How it works

This tool uses the hypergeometric distribution — the probability model for drawing cards without putting them back. With K copies in an N-card deck and an opening hand of n cards, the probability of drawing exactly k copies is C(K, k) × C(N−K, n−k) ÷ C(N, n), where C is the binomial coefficient.

"With mulligan" assumes the most common style of mulligan: if your opening hand has none of the card, you shuffle the whole hand back and redraw the same number of cards, once. That works out to 1 − (odds of missing)². Actual mulligan rules vary by game, and the NARUTO Card Game has not announced whether or how mulligans work.

The NARUTO Card Game is confirmed to use a 50-card deck, but the opening hand size is still unannounced (as of the July 29, 2026 reveal). We will update the defaults and the math as soon as the official rules are published.
