Gen Con 2026 photos reveal 6 new cards, including EX Sasuke and EX Naruto — plus counter Supports "Koto Amatsukami" and "Lightning Blade"
At Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis (July 30–August 2 local time), photos of the English-version NARUTO CARD GAME demo cards exhibited and distributed at the venue are pouring onto X. Player Dean Khazanov has collected the publicly posted reveals into a single thread, and from it we can read the faces of six cards whose details had not been confirmed before.
This article is a reading of photos of demo cards (SAMPLE watermark, NOT FOR SALE marking) taken at the venue. It is not a formal announcement on the official site, and only the English versions have been confirmed. Please read with the understanding that specifications may change before the retail release. All confirmed cards have been added to our card database.
Two EX Characters: the summon cost is “trash 2 of your Characters”
Sasuke Uchiha (N-014, SR)
- DMG 3 / POW 10 / HP 11, traits: Fire/Lightning/Uchiha Clan/The Taka
- Cannot be summoned normally
- [Summon Requirements] Place 1 of your Characters and 1 of your {The Taka} type Characters in your trash
- [Rush] (can attack the turn it is summoned)
- [On Summon] Choose 1 Character: K.O. the chosen card
The summon requirement asks for two Characters including a trait-specific one — heavier than Gamabunta (N-005)‘s “1 Character with 10+ power” — but you get removal plus Rush in return. The curly-brace trait reference “{The Taka}” is a first, and this card clearly signals that Taka (Sasuke’s squad with Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo) will be a buildable trait deck.
Naruto Uzumaki (N-003, SR)
- DMG 3 / POW 11 / HP 10 (artwork appears to be Kurama Mode), traits: Wind/Jinchuriki/Hidden Leaf Village/Team 7
- Cannot be summoned normally
- [Summon Requirements] Place 1 of your Characters and 1 of your Characters with 10 or more power in your trash
- [Rush]
- [On Summon] Summon up to 1 [Naruto Uzumaki] from your deck or trash with its effects negated
A vertical [Naruto Uzumaki] synergy that hints at a Naruto-centric build alongside the Naruto Leader (N-001). Both EX cards share the pattern of trashing your own Characters as a cost — together with the Exclusion Area, trash management looks set to be a core axis of this game.
First confirmation of negate-style counter Supports
The biggest takeaway this time: Supports that “negate” have been confirmed.
Shisui Uchiha (N-016, R)
- Cost 1 / POW 5 / HP 6, traits: Illusion/Uchiha Clan/Hidden Leaf Village
- [Support] Koto Amatsukami
- [Support Activated] Negate that card. Then, from this turn until the end of your next turn’s End Phase, you cannot turn your CHAKRA face-up
Kakashi Hatake (N-009, R)
- Cost 1 / POW 7 / HP 4, traits: Lightning/Hidden Leaf Village/Team 7
- [Support] Lightning Blade
- [Support Activated] Negate that card. Then, reduce your life by 2
Both carry the brand-new [Support Activated] trigger and negate “that card” — in other words, they look like counters fired in response to an opponent’s Support activation. What stands out is the price: Shisui locks your Chakra recovery, while Kakashi costs 2 life — each negate is paid for with a different resource. Letting players pay life (the Leader’s LIFE 15 is the lose condition) is an aggressive piece of design.
Two interception Supports also revealed
- Jiraiya (N-006, SR): Cost 2 / POW 7 / HP 4. [Support] Fire Style: Toad Flame Bombs — [During Your Opponent’s Attack] Choose up to 2 rested Characters: K.O. the chosen cards
- Hinata Hyuga: Cost 1 / POW 5 / HP 5. [Support] 8 Trigrams Air Palm — [During Your Opponent’s Attack] Choose 1 non-EX Character: K.O. the chosen card
Following Shikamaru Nara (N-008)‘s attack interruption, these [During Your Opponent’s Attack] triggers bring removal by K.O. — with conditions (“rested”, “non-EX”) that make the rest-risk of attacking a real strategic question.
Correction (August 1): Hinata Hyuga’s card number was initially given here as N-010, but subsequently posted high-resolution scans confirm that N-010 belongs to Karin, so Hinata’s number has been corrected to unconfirmed.
What the numbering gaps tell us
With these six cards, the confirmed character-series numbers are N-001 / 003 / 005 / 006 / 008 / 009 / 010 / 011 / 014 / 016. N-002, 004, 007, 012, 013, 015 and others are still open, and the photos also partially show an SR card with POW 8 / HP 8 (N-007?) and a Minato Namikaze card that appears to grant [Rush]. We haven’t added them to the database since their numbers can’t be confirmed, but Minato’s existence — hinted at by Gamabunta’s text — is now all but certain.
Still unknown
- Official Japanese wording for these cards (everything confirmed so far is the English version)
- How [Support Activated] formally works (what it can respond to, whether there is a chain concept)
- The product sets and the overall rarity system (the circled icon next to the card number also remains unexplained)
- Whether demo cards match the retail release
