The re-release was built as a 21st reservation window — Lucca’s playmat booking page gains a window whose reservation and collection times are identical, but `Closed` hides how many were released
Updated October 30, 2026: Both of the readings this article set out were confirmed the next morning.
First. This article said “today’s (October 29) 17:00 re-release window had not appeared at the time of our check”. By the next morning (00:17 CET on October 30, 08:17 JST) the page listed 22 windows, and the 22nd read 17:00 / 29 October 2026 / Collection: 29 Oct 17:00 / Closed — exactly the rule of the 21st (reservation day = collection day = same hour). So the re-release window is not a one-off exception; it is created on each event day (confirmed two days running). Both are Closed, however, so the quantities still cannot be read.
Second. On our reading that Closed attaches to windows whose collection date is today or earlier: October 23’s four windows (collection October 30) had flipped from Sold out to Closed, which brings the rule to 12 windows across three days (four each from October 21, 22 and 23) with no exceptions. Today’s split is class="closed" ×14 (those 12 plus the two re-release windows) and class="soldout" ×8 (collection only on October 31 and November 1). The footer still reads There are no available windows at the moment., and the body (€42.90 incl. VAT, one per person for the whole event, electronic payments only, the re-release clause) is unchanged.
The waiting-list checker is unchanged too, still reading The list is updated on Tuesday and Friday mornings; the final update will be on 30/10/2026. October 30 is a Friday, so this morning’s update (Italian time) is the final one — our check, at 00:17 local, came before it.
A reservation window had been added.
Today, October 29, 2026, is day two of Lucca Comics & Games 2026, the pre-release tutorial event for the NARUTO Card Game. Opening the Reserve Playmat page run by Play-system in Italy this morning, the windows listed under Reservation windows had grown from yesterday’s 20 to 21.
And the new one does not follow the rule the other 20 follow.
What this article is based on: everything below comes from the Lucca page on the NARUTO Card Game English official site and from the Play-system Reserve Playmat page that page links to via its “Playmat Ticket Page” button (both checked twice, at 08:14 and 08:17 JST on October 29, 2026, with identical results). Play-system is the Italian operator, and the official site itself designates it as the booking channel. We keep statements from the official site (naruto-cardgame.com) separate from statements on Play-system’s pages. Conversions to JST are ours; neither page states JST. Quotations keep the original English.
The 21st window follows a different rule
Here is the new window’s text, as printed.
| Field | As printed |
|---|---|
| Window heading (time) | 17:00 |
| Window date | 28 October 2026 |
| Collection | Collection: 28 Oct 17:00 |
| State | Closed |
The part to look at is the relationship between the reservation day and the collection day.
The 20 windows on this page opened four per day at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00 Italian time, from October 21 through October 25. The page body states the rule:
Each reservation day corresponds to the event day exactly one week later.
And all 20 followed it. The October 21, 10:00 window collects at Collection: 28 Oct 10:00; the October 25, 16:00 window collects at Collection: 01 Nov 16:00. There are always seven days between reservation and collection.
The 21st window has October 28 for both, at 17:00 for both. The gap is zero.
| Window | Reservation | Collection | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| One of the original 20 | October 21, 10:00 | October 28, 10:00 | 7 days |
| One of the original 20 | October 25, 16:00 | November 1, 16:00 | 7 days |
| The 21st window | October 28, 17:00 | October 28, 17:00 | 0 days |
This is the re-release clause, implemented
A zero-gap window created at 17:00 is explained by one sentence in the page body.
Any remaining playmats resulting from cancellations or no-shows will be made available for reservation on the same booking page, starting at approximately 17:00 each event day, subject to availability.
That clause has been on the page since we started tracking the 20 windows on October 22. Yesterday we wrote that with all 20 windows filled, this re-release was the only purchase route left.
What we could report then stopped at the existence of the clause. The source text only says the playmats “will be made available for reservation on the same booking page” — it says nothing about whether that means an existing window changes state or a new window is created.
Today answers that: a new window is created.
- The clauseapprox. 17:00 each event day, subject to availability
- 17:00 CETa 21st window is added
- Its rulereservation = collection, same hour (zero gap)
- At our checkstate is Closed
Same-day collection makes mechanical sense: the stock for a re-release comes from that day’s cancellations and no-shows, so collection has to finish that same day. There is no room for a window a week out. The source text does not say this, though, so we treat only the printed fields as fact, not the reasoning.
We can bound when it was added — yesterday there were 20
Our own daily record narrows down when the 21st window appeared.
Yesterday’s check was at 00:17 Italian time on October 28, and there were 20 windows then (closed ×4 plus soldout ×16). The page footer also still read There are no available windows at the moment.
Today’s check was at 00:14 Italian time on October 29, and there are 21.
And since the window itself prints 17:00 on 28 October 2026, it was added after 17:00 CET on October 28 and before 00:14 CET on October 29 — roughly between 1:00 and 08:14 JST on October 29. That is consistent with the clause’s starting at approximately 17:00.
But Closed means we cannot read how many were released
This is the part of today’s report we are most careful about.
The 21st window’s state is Closed, not Sold out. So the page does not tell us what actually happened in it.
To be explicit about what cannot be read:
- Whether even one playmat was re-released — unknown. The clause carries
subject to availability, and the source text never says whether a window is created even when there is no stock - How many were released — unknown. The per-day count itself remains unannounced (the body says only
A limited number of Official NARUTO CARD GAME Playmats will be available each day.) - Whether they sold or went unsold — unknown.
Sold outwould have read as a sell-out;Closedhas overwritten it
The property we flagged yesterday — Closed overwrites Sold out — applies to a window that was only just created. The fact that a window existed survives; the outcome is gone.
That is as far as today’s evidence goes.
The test we set out yesterday: October 22’s four windows flipped, as predicted
A second result landed today.
Yesterday we declined to assert what Closed means, because the source text explains nothing, and set out a test instead:
How to test it: tomorrow (October 29), if the four windows that opened on October 22 (collection October 29) read
Closed, that adds one case for reading this as “the collection date arrives, so it goesClosed”. If they do not, we look for a different trigger
The prediction held. The four windows that opened on October 22 — all for collection today, October 29 — had changed from Sold out to Closed.
Here are all 21 windows as of today.
| Reservation day | Collection day | Yesterday (Oct 28) | Today (Oct 29) |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 21 (Wed) | October 28 (Wed) | Closed | Closed |
| October 22 (Thu) | October 29 (Thu) = today | Sold out | Closed |
| October 23 (Fri) | October 30 (Fri) | Sold out | Sold out |
| October 24 (Sat) | October 31 (Sat) | Sold out | Sold out |
| October 25 (Sun) | November 1 (Sun) | Sold out | Sold out |
| October 28 (Wed), re-release | October 28 (Wed) | (no window) | Closed |
Counting the HTML classes gives class="closed" ×9 and class="soldout" ×12, 21 in total. The labels are fixed in the HTML the server returns, not computed in the browser.
And again, our check was at 00:14 Italian time. Today’s first collection slot is 10:00, so the windows already read Closed before a single collection had taken place — the same condition as yesterday.
That means “collection date is today or earlier → Closed” now accounts for nine windows across two days.
- The five windows collecting on October 28 (the original four plus the re-release) → all
Closed - The four windows collecting on October 29, today → all
Closed - The twelve windows collecting on October 30 or later → all
Sold out
Not one exception. But the source text still carries no definition of these labels, so we continue to keep “what we observed” separate from “what it can be read as”. If October 23’s four windows go Closed tomorrow (October 30), the count rises to thirteen.
Today’s re-release window has not appeared yet
The same page lets us follow today’s re-release.
At the time of our check (00:14 Italian time), the page footer still read:
There are no available windows at the moment.
Today’s 17:00 CET window has not been created. If it appears the way the 21st one did — after 17:00 on its own event day — it should appear at 17:00 CET, about 1:00 on October 30 JST.
- 00:14our check: 21 windows, no new one
- 10:00first collection slot for October 22’s batch
- 16:00last collection slot for that batch
- approx. 17:00re-release (subject to availability)
The whole event period (October 28 – November 1) falls in winter time (CET), so 17:00 CET is 1:00 the next day in Japan.
The purchase conditions themselves are unchanged: electronic payments only, a maximum of one per person for the whole event, and a separate Lucca Comics & Games admission ticket for that day. The price still appears three ways — €42.90 incl. VAT on the Play-system page, MSRP: $35 (+tax) on the official site’s Lucca page, and USD $40.00 in the BCG Fest merchandise list (we laid these out in our October 21 article).
The tutorial-session pages and the official site are unchanged today
For completeness we also read Play-system’s registration page (page-dated 02/10/2026) and waiting-list checker in full. Both are unchanged from what we recorded in our October 26 article.
- The waiting list still reads
The list is updated on Tuesday and Friday mornings; the final update will be on 30/10/2026.Today is a Thursday, so it is not an update day — the next update is the final one - The on-the-day rule is still
If a registered participant is not present when the session begins, their place will be assigned to the first available person on the waiting list. - The official site’s Lucca page is unchanged. On window states, the re-release and the waiting list, the official site itself still carries not one line
We checked the news lists on all five language editions of the official site as well; there are no new entries today (the latest is gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 on the English (Asia) edition, dated October 23). No new cards or products were published either, so there are no additions to our card or product databases today.
What is still unknown
- Whether any playmat was actually released through the 21st window, how many, and whether any sold — overwritten by the
Closedlabel - Whether a window is created even with zero stock — the source text never says whether
subject to availabilityapplies to creating the window or to the stock inside it - The definition of the
Closedlabel — not one line in the source text. We report observations and do not assert the meaning - The exact moment of each flip — nine windows already read
Closedat 00:14 today; we have not checked any earlier point - The
notyetandavailablelabels — defined in the CSS, but we have never caught either in use - The number of playmats per day — still only
A limited number ... each day, even after the event opened - Whether all 63 tutorial sessions are full — each session’s registration lives on a BANDAI TCG+ page that requires JavaScript, which our environment cannot read (the API returns 403 without authentication)
Summary
- The reservation windows on Play-system’s Reserve Playmat page have grown from 20 to 21
- The new one reads
17:00,28 October 2026,Collection: 28 Oct 17:00,Closed. All 20 original windows collect exactly one week after the reservation day; this one has the same date and the same hour for both - This is our first confirmation that the page’s re-release clause (
starting at approximately 17:00 each event day, subject to availability) is implemented by creating a new reservation window - But its state is
Closed. How many were released, and whether even one sold, cannot be read from the page — the overwriting behaviour applies even to a window just created - At our check yesterday (00:17 CET, October 28) there were 20 windows, so the addition happened after 17:00 CET on October 28 and before 00:14 CET on October 29
- The test we set out yesterday also resolved. October 22’s four windows (collection today) flipped to
Closedas predicted, and “collection date is today or earlier →Closed” now explains nine windows across two days with no exceptions - Today’s split is 9
Closedand 12Sold out. Our check was at 00:14 Italian time, before any of today’s collections (the first is at 10:00) - Today’s 17:00 re-release window has not appeared. The footer still reads
There are no available windows at the moment.17:00 CET is about 1:00 on October 30 JST - The tutorial-session registration page, the waiting-list checker and the official site’s Lucca page are all unchanged
We keep the latest registration states in the reservation and lottery hub and the October–November schedule in the event calendar. We will check this page every day of the event and update it, along with the product database entry, the same day anything moves.
