TCGplayer Opens NARUTO CARD GAME — Listings From September 22, Purchases From September 28. But the Only Things You Can Trade Are Already-Distributed Promos, and Nothing Is on Pre-Order Yet
TCGplayer, a marketplace for trading cards, published “Now Available on TCGplayer: NARUTO CARD GAME” on its official seller blog on September 22, 2026.
Ahead of the worldwide simultaneous launch in Summer 2027, the distribution side has opened before the product exists. Read closely, though, this is not the start of pre-orders. Here is what official primary sources confirm.
1. What the announcement says
The source is the TCGplayer official seller blog (September 22, 2026). Quoting the parts that carry dates and scope:
Starting today, September 22, 2026, TCGplayer sellers will be able to list NARUTO CARD GAME.
On September 28, 2026, TCGplayer customers will be able to purchase the TCG on the marketplace.
The first batch of promotional cards that were distributed in earlier events (such as Gen Con 2026 and at Yankee stadium) can now be listed for re-sale on TCGplayer.
The TCGplayer Catalog will list all upcoming cards and products for presale as more information is revealed prior to release.
The first official release for NARUTO CARD GAME is slated for sometime in Summer 2027.
The post also states that sellers can expect full support for all future sealed products and card singles.
2. The dates, in order
- Sellers can listSeptember 22, 2026
- Customers can purchaseSeptember 28, 2026
- Next major information dropNYCC 2026, October 8–11
- First official releaseSummer 2027
September 22 and September 28 are the two dates this announcement fixes for the first time. “Summer 2027” has not moved since the July 29 information reveal, and the wording here is the same.
3. What physical cards could actually be traded
The blog says only “promotional cards distributed at earlier events” and does not name them. Here is what our card database confirms from official primary sources as physically distributed so far:
- CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.- (Gen Con 2026, July 30 – August 2, 2026; tutorial session participant gift)
- CP-001 Chakra Card -New York Yankees Ver.- (NARUTO x YANKEES GAME NIGHT, September 8, 2026; first 40,000 guests)
- The Gen Con 2026 demo cards (SAMPLE watermark, NOT FOR SALE marking — as covered in our August 1 article on the high-resolution scans that revealed 11 more cards, most of our card database comes from these)
Unconfirmed: the blog does not say which of these its “promotional cards” refers to. Two distinct things were handed out at Gen Con 2026 — the CP-001 participant gift and the cards used for demos — and the latter are printed with NOT FOR SALE on the card face. Neither TCGplayer nor Bandai has explained whether the two are treated the same way.
Note also that neither CP-001 version has had its card face or effect text published. For the Yankee Stadium version, MLB’s official game record confirms attendance of 46,211, but neither the club nor Bandai has published how many cards were actually handed out.
4. This is not the start of pre-orders
The distinction is easy to blur, so here it is laid out.
| Status | Basis | |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-ordering a product (boosters, starters, etc.) | Not possible | No product name, release date, price or contents has been announced |
| Buying on TCGplayer | Possible from September 28 | Scope is the re-sale of already-distributed promos |
| Presale listings on TCGplayer | Later (no date) | Only stated as happening “as more information is revealed” |
The position we set out in our September 1 article on pre-order status — that there is nothing to pre-order — is unchanged as of September 23. The only NARUTO Card Game item with a published price is still the official playmat at US$35 before tax.
The same holds elsewhere: the only thing you can officially apply for right now is a demo session lottery (see our pre-order and lottery hub). The “Teaching Session” lotteries for BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 close on September 27 for Hong Kong, October 4 for Bangkok, October 12 for Singapore and October 25 for Kuala Lumpur.
5. What actually changes
Speculation from here: once a marketplace category exists, published transaction prices start attaching to the distributed promos. Until now, tracking what a CP-001 goes for meant following individual listings; from September 28 it may become visible as a catalog price. What does not change is that these are giveaways with no official retail price. We do not publish predictions about where those prices land or how they move.
The other practical piece is the presale slot. TCGplayer says it will add cards and products to the catalog “as more information is revealed prior to release,” and the next announced venue for information is New York Comic Con 2026 (October 8–11, 2026, Javits Center, booth #2705). If product names and prices land there, presale listings following is a plausible order — but neither TCGplayer nor Bandai has named a date.
6. What is still unknown
- Which cards specifically are covered (the blog says only “promotional cards”)
- Whether the demo cards marked NOT FOR SALE are included
- When presale listings begin
- Product names, release dates, prices and contents (nothing beyond “Summer 2027”)
- When pre-orders open in other markets, and through which retailers (this announcement concerns the TCGplayer marketplace and says nothing about distribution elsewhere)
Summary
- TCGplayer’s official seller blog announced on September 22, 2026 that it now carries NARUTO CARD GAME
- Sellers can list from September 22; customers can buy from September 28
- What can be listed right now is the re-sale of promotional cards already distributed at Gen Con 2026, Yankee Stadium and similar events
- Full support is planned for future sealed products and singles, with presale listings added as information is revealed
- The first official release is still Summer 2027. Nothing is on pre-order, and the only item with a published price remains the official playmat
- The blog does not name the cards, so which of the two things handed out at Gen Con it means is unconfirmed
