Naruto Uzumaki (N-003) Has the Highest Known Power at 11 — The Four EX Characters Form Two Mirrored Pairs, 11/10 ⇄ 10/11 and 10/8 ⇄ 8/10, and Only This One Can Call a Card Out of the Deck by Name

This is the 16th article in our single-card analysis series. Today we read Naruto Uzumaki (N-003).

The series started with Gamabunta (N-005). That first article ran into a dead end — only three known Characters have 10 or more printed power, and all three are EX Characters — and this card sits at the top of those three.

Read head-on, it turns out that the EX Character slot itself is built to a remarkably tidy plan.

About this article: N-003’s card face comes from photos of the English demo card taken at the Gen Con 2026 venue (SAMPLE watermark, NOT FOR SALE marking). Neither the official website nor the official X account has published this card face or any Japanese-language text for it. The Japanese name and effect text on our site are our own reference rendering following previously revealed cards. Because the source is not an image published officially, this article does not include a quoted card image. All counts are taken from the 38 entries in our card database (24 with readable effect text, 20 Characters with readable stats). The official rulebook and card list are still unpublished, and we clearly separate speculation from confirmed fact.

EX Characters have no chakra cost field — all four known EX cards share that, as covered in our comparison of the four EX Characters. The effect text runs four lines.

Cannot be summoned normally. [Summon Requirements] Place 1 of your Characters and 1 of your Characters with 10 or more power in your trash. [Rush] (This card can attack on the turn in which it is played.) [On Summon] Summon up to 1 [Naruto Uzumaki] from your deck or trash with its effects negated.

The artwork appears to depict Kurama Mode.

2. Power 11 is a value held by exactly one card

Counting power across the 20 Characters with readable stats, 11 appears once.

Power 11 belongs to N-003 and nothing else.

Add HP 10 and the total is 21. Mapped onto the tiers we identified in our rundown of every stat line (August 7), that sits at the top of the EX band.

A total of 21 ties with EX Sasuke (N-014) for the highest known. And what is inside that tie turned out to be neat.

3. The four EX Characters form two mirrored pairs

Here are the power and HP of all four known EX Characters, as printed.

All four are mirrored, in two pairs: 11/10 ⇄ 10/11 and 10/8 ⇄ 8/10.

In yesterday’s article on Jiraiya (N-006) we noted that Jiraiya and Orochimaru have their power/HP swapped 7/4 against 4/7. The same shape shows up in the EX slot — this time closing entirely within the slot itself.

And it is not only the numbers that line up.

Speculation from here: the EX Character slot looks built as two tiers — a heavy pair and a light pair — with the two bodies in each tier having their numbers swapped. The two Gen Con demo decks split into a “Naruto side” and a “Sasuke side,” and these four line up with that: N-003 and N-005 on the Naruto side, N-014 and N-022 on the Sasuke side. Reading it as the same slot handed to both decks, one leaning into offense and one into durability is natural, but nothing official says so. Only four EX Characters are known, and whether this is the design of the whole set is unconfirmed.

There is one more symmetry worth noting: the type line.

Among the 38 known entries, these are the only two pairs whose four types match exactly (the art version of Naruto Uzumaki with Team 7 leads with {Special} rather than the {Wind} of N-001 and N-003).

4. The heaviest Summon Requirements known

Start at the first line: “Cannot be summoned normally” — the sentence shared by all four EX Characters, as set out in our guide to every summon route (August 6).

Here is what each one costs.

By card count it matches N-014 at two, but the condition attached to the second card is heavier.

As established in the first article of this series, only three known Characters have 10 or more printed power (N-003, N-005, N-014), and all three are EX Characters. The {The Taka} type that N-014 asks for, by contrast, is carried by three non-EX Characters: Karin N-010, Jugo N-019 and Suigetsu Hozuki N-021.

In other words, paying N-003 off printed stats means putting an EX Character into your trash — and that EX Character has Summon Requirements of its own.

Speculation from here: build the shortest route from known card faces only and it comes out like this. Of the three EX Characters with 10 or more power, only N-014 has Summon Requirements that do not themselves demand 10 power (1 Character plus 1 {The Taka} Character), so that is the only door in.

Note that N-014 is {The Taka} while N-003 is {Wind} and {Team 7}, and the Gen Con demo decks put them in different decks. Whether both can go in the same deck cannot be confirmed, because the color system is unannounced.

The possible way around this is effects that raise power. Naruto Uzumaki Leader (N-001) grants +3 power to a Character with its [Activate: Main], which brings the six non-EX Characters with 7 or more printed power (Choji Akimichi, Jiraiya N-006, Minato Namikaze N-007, Kakashi Hatake N-009, Itachi Uchiha N-013, Jugo N-019) up to 10.

Unconfirmed: nothing official explains whether a temporary power boost counts when checking Summon Requirements. We left the same question open in the first article, and it is still open.

5. The only summon effect without “non-EX”

This is what stood out most today. Four known cards put another card onto the field, and three of them carry the same restriction.

Read literally, N-003’s [On Summon] can pick any [Naruto Uzumaki] — including an EX one. That means a second copy of N-003 itself.

Unconfirmed: whether this asymmetry is deliberate or a misreading of the venue photo cannot be settled. Losing the two characters non-EX to photo resolution is possible. On the other hand, the same photo set yielded the fine print of N-014’s Summon Requirements, and non-EX was legible on N-005, N-019 and N-022 — so there is no basis for calling it a misreading either. It is the first thing we want to check when the rulebook appears.

The wording “up to 1” is also unique to N-003 among these four. N-005 reads “Summon 1.” Taken literally, N-003 can decline to summon and N-005 cannot.

6. The only card that touches both the deck and the trash

The same four cards, sorted by where they pull a card from.

N-003 is the only card that reaches both zones — and the only known card that fetches a named card out of the deck with certainty.

As set out in our count of effects that manipulate the top of the deck (August 10), the “reveal the top card” on N-019 and N-022 lives or dies on the order of your deck. Remember that Sasuke Uchiha Leader (N-012), which we read yesterday, has an [Activate: Main] that places a card from your hand on top of your deck, and a contrast appears: the Sasuke side stacks the top and then reveals it; the Naruto side names what it wants.

7. “With its effects negated” appears on no other card

The tail of the [On Summon] — “with its effects negated” — is likewise wording that appears nowhere else among the 24 readable effect texts.

Counting what a [Naruto Uzumaki] could be, among known cards:

For now, the only one we can say it definitely calls is Naruto Uzumaki (N-004).

And N-004’s printed effect is “[Support] Rasengan / [During Your Main] K.O. all Characters.” — a board wipe that spares neither side.

Speculation from here: as we set out in our article on face-down Supports (August 6), the [Support] line appears to be the effect you get when you set the card face down. Whether an N-004 standing on the field as a Character carries that effect at all cannot be read off the card. Still, the fact that N-003 bothers to say “with its effects negated” can be read as the flip side: there are situations where the summoned card’s effects would otherwise do something. What exactly is negated — the [On Summon], the [Support], or both — is not explained officially.

8. On board count, N-003 breaks even

Compare the four EX Characters by how many bodies you end up with.

N-003 does not grow your board, but two cheap Characters in the trash are converted into power 11 with [Rush] plus one card fetched by name out of the deck.

[Rush] is printed on exactly two known cards, N-003 and N-014 (Minato Namikaze N-007 gains it conditionally at 10 or more power, and Ino Yamanaka N-011 grants it to three allies). Power 11 attacking on the turn it arrives is, among known cards, this one alone.

Unconfirmed: nothing official explains what DMG 3 means. The two Leader cards print LIFE 15, but the relationship between DMG and life is unannounced. Arithmetic like “DMG 3, so five hits” cannot be done yet.

9. What is still unknown

• Whether the [On Summon] really does not exclude EX Characters (the restriction that the other three carry is the one thing we cannot read on this card)
• What “with its effects negated” negates ([On Summon], [Support], or both)
• Whether a temporary power boost counts for Summon Requirements (carried over from the first article)
• What DMG means and how it relates to life (all we know is that 3 is the maximum)
• The color system (whether N-003 and N-014 can share a deck)
• The Japanese name and effect text (only the English demo card has been confirmed)

All of these wait on the official rulebook and card list. We will update the card database page and this article as they are answered.

Summary

• Naruto Uzumaki (N-003) is an EX Character, rarity SR: DMG 3 / POW 11 / HP 10, with the {Wind}, {Jinchuriki}, {Hidden Leaf Village} and {Team 7} types
• Power 11 is held by exactly one of the 20 Characters with readable stats. Its POW+HP of 21 ties with EX Sasuke (N-014) for the highest
• The four known EX Characters form two mirrors — 11/10 ⇄ 10/11 and 10/8 ⇄ 8/10 — with DMG, summon cost and [Rush] lining up pair by pair
• Its type line matches Naruto Uzumaki Leader (N-001) on all four entries. The same relationship holds for N-012 and N-014, and those are the only two such pairs known
• Its Summon Requirements are the heaviest known: paid off printed stats, getting it out routes through N-014 and puts four Characters in the trash
• Of the four known cards that summon another card, only N-003 lacks the “non-EX” restriction
• It is also the only card that reaches both the deck and the trash, and the only one that fetches by name. N-019 and N-022 reveal the top card at random
