NYCC 2026 and PAX Aus 2026 details revealed — on-site tutorial sign-ups, CP-001 Chakra Card gifts, and a $35 playmat sold at the booth

Two new pages — “New York Comic Con 2026 Event Information” and “PAX Aus 2026 Event Information” — were posted to the English official site’s news feed, both dated August 7. The two events had only been names on the July 29 roadmap; now we have venues, a booth number, participant gifts, and merchandise pricing.

Note that at the time of writing these pages exist only on the English site (/en/). The Japanese (/jp/), English (Asia) (/asia/), and Traditional Chinese (/tc/) sites return 404 for the same paths — the language gap on the official site continues.

Three things changed since Gen Con 2026

The most important part of this announcement is that the operation differs from Gen Con 2026. If you plan your trip on Gen Con’s assumptions, you will miss things.

Change 1: Advance tickets → on-site same-day registration

Both pages say the following about tutorial sessions:

Registration for the Tutorial Sessions is planned to take place on-site on the day of the event. Please stay tuned for further details.

Gen Con 2026 used advance ticket sales through the Gen Con site, and both the Thursday and Saturday sessions sold out early. This time registration is planned to happen on-site on the day, so there is no ticket to secure in advance — but it may instead come down to how early you can get in line. Start times and capacity are unannounced.

Change 2: Playmat voucher → direct sale at the booth

Both venues list the following merchandise:

NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat -Arriving in 2027- MSRP: $35 (+tax) *Limited to one item per person. Available in limited quantities each day.

At Gen Con 2026 the playmat could only be bought with the purchase voucher included in the tutorial session gift set. At NYCC and PAX Aus you can buy it at the booth for $35 (+tax) without attending a tutorial. It is still one per person, in limited quantities each day, and the product itself is “Arriving in 2027.”

Change 3: TCG+ registration and a survey are now stated requirements

Participant gifts are:

  • CP-001 Chakra Card
  • Logo Sticker

And the eligibility condition is spelled out:

Only participants registered to the “NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL” on TCG+ and who complete a survey after the Tutorial Session are eligible to receive the above items.

In other words, if you have not registered for the BANDAI TCG+ channel, attending the session is not enough to get the gifts. Rather than gambling on convention Wi-Fi, register before you travel (see our BANDAI TCG+ registration guide).

Both events also state that tutorials are limited to one session per person for the whole convention, that gifts are one per person regardless of how many sessions are reserved or attended, and that demo decks are not available to take home.

PAX Aus has a sticker giveaway that NYCC does not

The PAX Aus page has a Giveaways section with no equivalent on the NYCC page:

Follow any of our social media channels from the links below, or register for the “NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL” on BANDAI TCG+, and receive a free sticker!

Follow any official social channel (Instagram, Facebook, X) or register for the TCG+ channel, and you get a logo sticker without attending a tutorial. No such section appears on the NYCC page at present.

The CP-001 gift is listed without a version name

The Gen Con 2026 gift was labelled “CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.-” (see our card database entry). The NYCC and PAX Aus pages both list the plain, version-less “CP-001 Chakra Card.”

The same day also brought the announcement of a “-New York Yankees™ Ver.-” giveaway at a Yankees game, confirming that CP-001 is the slot used for venue-specific variants. Whether the NYCC and PAX Aus gifts use the Gen Con artwork or their own versions, however, has not been stated officially.

Still unannounced

  • Tutorial session start times, schedule, and capacity per session
  • The PAX Aus booth number
  • The content of the “more new information” teased for NYCC (in the July 29 roadmap) — the timing was confirmed on 2026-08-20, in the panel slot noted above
  • The card faces of the NYCC and PAX Aus CP-001
  • When the Japanese official site will carry these pages

The NYCC page closes with “Stay tuned for more information!”, so further updates are clearly expected. We will report them here as soon as they are confirmed.

The full schedule is on our event calendar, and every revealed card is in the card database. If you would rather start by learning the rules, see the improvement roadmap.
