“NARUTO Night at Yankee Stadium” was posted to the English official site’s news feed, dated August 7. It is a collaboration with MLB’s New York Yankees, and the headline is that a NARUTO Card Game Chakra Card bearing the Yankees logo will be distributed.

What the official page says

The page states:

[Added September 3, 2026] The game is confirmed on MLB’s schedule; the giveaway terms still are not

We rechecked the primary sources on September 3, five days out.

The game itself is confirmed on MLB’s official schedule.

The conditions and quantity of the card giveaway, however, remain unstated officially as of September 3. The NARUTO Card Game site’s wording is unchanged from August 7 and still just points readers to the Yankees.

We also confirmed that the franchise official site (naruto-official.com) carried the same announcement on August 25, 2026. It gives no distribution terms either.

Some pages online report a specific print run. We have not been able to confirm any of those figures in a primary source, so we do not print a number. (→ The terms were subsequently confirmed on the Yankees official site on September 6, 2026; see the next section.)

The whole month is laid out in The NARUTO Card Game in September 2026.

[Added September 6, 2026] The terms are published — “1st 40,000 Guests” on the Yankees promotional schedule

Two days out, on September 6, we confirmed that the New York Yankees official site’s “Promotional Schedule” now carries an entry for September 8.

The “Guidelines for Yankee Stadium Promotional Item Distribution” on the same page spell out the conditions for receiving one.

The page also warns that “Purchasing a ticket for any promotional date does not guarantee that a Guest will receive the designated giveaway item.” The 40,000 cap should be read as filling in order of entry.

This is the only occasion with a published quantity

There are fourteen CP-001 Chakra Card give-away occasions confirmable from official primary sources (full list here). Yankee Stadium is the only one of them with an officially stated quantity. Gen Con, NYCC, PAX Aus, the three European events and the seven BCG Fest cities all state no number.

Meanwhile, the NARUTO Card Game official site’s own wording is unchanged from August 7. The quantity appears only on the ball club’s page; the card game site still just points readers to the Yankees. The card face and effect text also remain unpublished.

[Added September 10, 2026] The game is over — official attendance was 46,211, exceeding the 40,000-guest giveaway cap by 6,211

The September 8 game has been played. Here is what MLB’s official game record shows.

46,211Official MLB attendanceSeptember 8, 2026, Yankee Stadium
40,000Giveaway cap (Yankees official)1st 40,000 Guests
+6,211Attendance over the capSimple arithmetic on two official figures
ItemMLB official record
Date and venueSeptember 8, 2026, Yankee Stadium
MatchupNew York Yankees vs Colorado Rockies
ResultYankees 5 – 3 Rockies (Yankees win)
First pitch7:08pm local time (scheduled for 7:05pm)
Duration2 hours 39 minutes
Attendance46,211

This is the point. The giveaway cap, as confirmed on September 6, was “1st 40,000 Guests.” The official attendance for the game was 46,211. Subtract one official figure from the other and 6,211 guests fall outside the cap.

That difference cannot be read as “6,211 people missed out,” for two reasons:

  • MLB’s attendance is the figure the club publishes as the official record, while the giveaway went to the first 40,000 by order of entry. Neither entry timing nor how fast the stock ran down is in the record
  • Neither the club nor Bandai has published how many cards were actually handed out, or when supplies ran out

What can be stated with confidence is that the 40,000-item cap sat below this game’s attendance. The Yankees’ warning that “purchasing a ticket does not guarantee that a Guest will receive the designated giveaway item” applied to a crowd large enough for it to matter.

With this, two of the fourteen CP-001 give-away occasions confirmable in official primary sources have now taken place: Gen Con 2026 (July 30 – August 2) and this Yankee Stadium night. The remaining twelve are all scheduled for October or later (full list).

The card face and effect text are still unpublished as of September 10, even though distribution is over, and the NARUTO Card Game official site’s wording is unchanged from August 7.

CP-001 is the slot for venue-specific variants

This is the key takeaway. Card number CP-001 is the same number as the Gen Con 2026 participant gift announced on July 8: “CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.-” (see our card database entry).

That confirms two versions of CP-001:

  • -Gen Con 2026 Ver.- (July 30 – August 2, 2026, Indianapolis, USA)
  • -New York Yankees™ Ver.- (September 8, 2026, Yankee Stadium)

And the NYCC 2026 / PAX Aus 2026 participant gifts announced the same day are also listed as “CP-001 Chakra Card” (no version name). CP-001 is clearly being run as the promotional slot that carries event-specific designs.

Per the game overview published in the July 29 reveal, Chakra Cards are five dedicated cards used alongside — not inside — your deck, and they are the basic component used to pay costs (see our complete Chakra Card guide). Because their gameplay role is fixed, there is little room for effect text to differ between printings — which makes them an easy fit for art-variant collectibles.

Note also that the sample Chakra Card “C-001” carries a different card number, and that the card face and effect text of CP-001 have not been published on the official site for either the Gen Con or the Yankees version.

More places to get physical cards before launch

The NARUTO Card Game launches worldwide in Summer 2027, so until then the only physical cards in existence are event giveaways. This announcement adds a venue that is not a card game event at all — a Major League Baseball game.

  • Gen Con 2026: tutorial session participants (advance tickets, sold out)
  • NYCC 2026 / PAX Aus 2026: tutorial session participants (on-site registration planned)
  • NARUTO Night at Yankee Stadium: attendees of a baseball game

The first two target people who came to play a card game. Yankee Stadium targets people who came to watch baseball — by far the widest reach into an audience that has never touched the game.

What we will not print

Numbers about print runs and ticket packages for this Yankees giveaway are circulating on social media and in overseas coverage, and some of them conflict with the “1st 40,000 Guests” figure above. The only quantity this site uses is the one printed on the Yankees promotional schedule. Figures we cannot confirm in a primary source do not get printed here, however widely they circulate.

Social media also describes a ticket package that “guarantees” the card. We have not been able to confirm its contents on the Yankees official site, so we do not cover it.

If you need the exact requirements, check the promotion listing for that date directly on the Yankees official site. Note that the club itself states that promotion dates, items and distribution are subject to change and/or cancellation.

Still unannounced

  • The card face, artwork and effect text of the Yankees version of CP-001 (still unpublished on September 10, after distribution ended)
  • How many cards were actually handed out, and when supplies ran out (official attendance was 46,211 against a 40,000-item cap)
  • The actual start time of distribution and the location of the distribution area
  • Any specification differences from the Gen Con version (finish, rarity marking, etc.)
  • Whether the NARUTO Card Game official site will publish the terms itself (it still only links to the club)
  • Whether and when the Japanese official site will carry this page

Like the NYCC / PAX Aus details, this announcement appears only on the English official site; the Japanese, English (Asia), and Traditional Chinese sites return 404 for the same path.

All revealed promo cards are catalogued in our card database, and upcoming dates are in the event calendar.
