Gen Con 2026 Closes — Everything Learned from the Game's Four-Day World Debut, Official Announcements and Floor Reads Sorted

Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis (July 30 – August 2 local time) has come to a close. For the NARUTO CARD GAME, this was the game’s world debut, and the volume of information climbed sharply in the days between the July 29 information reveal and the convention’s end.

This article covers what the company itself communicated during the convention, then takes stock of everything confirmed over this period — carefully separated into what was officially announced and what was read off the convention floor.

During the Convention, the Official Account Announced Cards on Display — Merchandise Booth #605

The one piece of official messaging to note from the convention itself came from the official English account @narutotcg_eng, posted at 16:30 EDT on July 31 (05:30 JST on August 1):

Two things stood out.

1. The display was at merchandise booth #605

Booth #605 was already listed on the official Gen Con event page as the merchandise booth. What this post announced for the first time is that actual cards were on display there.

That is a different location from Event Room #121, where the Tutorial Sessions were held. The session room banned all photography, video, and audio recording, but the exhibition booth was evidently not covered by that restriction — which explains why convention-floor photos circulated on X from day one.

2. “Stunning foil finish”

The detail the official account highlighted as worth seeing in person was the cards’ foil finish. No information was given about the type of treatment or which rarities receive it. This was not announced as a retail-product specification, so treat it accordingly — but the presence of foil treatment on the displayed cards is confirmed in the official account’s own words.

Here is the stock-take. Because the two kinds of information carry very different weight, they are kept strictly separate.

Note that the starting deck size is written differently across languages: the Japanese site says “a deck of 50 cards” alongside the Leader, while the English site says “a deck of 51 cards.” That discrepancy and several others are laid out in Reading the Official Site in Four Languages.

B. From the Convention Floor (Not an Official Site or Rulebook Announcement)

The following was read off photos and scan images of physical items distributed or displayed at Gen Con. None of it is an official announcement, and any of it could change before release.

The highlight: the high-resolution scans confirmed the “Taka” package in Sasuke’s demo deck — Karin (N-010), Jūgo (N-019), Suigetsu Hozuki (N-021), and Manda (N-022) — all at once. The cards supporting EX Sasuke’s (N-014) {The Taka} play-condition requirement were fully confirmed before the convention even closed. In the process, Hinata Hyuga’s card number, initially reported as N-010 from floor photos, was corrected to unconfirmed — N-010 is Karin.

The CP-001 “Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.-” promo began appearing on the eBay secondary market during the convention, including bundle listings with the backpack, sticker, and playmat ticket. The promo was distributed only to Tutorial Session participants, and both the Thursday and Saturday sessions sold out well in advance. Still Unknown

Information grew a lot over the convention, but almost nothing that drives a purchase decision has been announced.

What Comes Next

The next event where the company has promised “further new information” is New York Comic Con 2026 (October 8–11). October also brings tutorial sessions at PAX Aus, Spiel Essen, Paris Games Week, and Lucca Comics & Games, followed by BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 across 11 cities worldwide (October 2026 through early 2027, with Tokyo slated for early 2027).
