The official site lists 4 news items in Japanese and 13 in English — comparing all four language versions, not one of them carries all 20

This article is commentary and analysis by this site. To keep it distinct from official facts, reasoning and speculation are clearly labeled.

Every time we have covered an official announcement, our source has been the English version of the official site. The three European events and NARUTO Night at Yankee Stadium both cite /en/.

That was not a coincidence. On September 14, 2026 we pulled the news lists of all four language versions and compared them, and the Japanese version holds only 4 news items — less than a third of the English version’s 13.

But “just read the English one, then” does not work either. Not a single BCG Fest city announcement for Asia appears on the English site.

This article is a record of a full check of what is listed and which pages exist in each language version. Our July 31 article compared how the text is written on the same four versions of the “About NARUTO CARD GAME” page (deck of “50” versus “51 cards”, and so on). This one is about what is published at all.

Which version is authoritative, and why the differences exist, has not been explained officially. What follows is a record of how things stood on September 14, 2026.

1. The counts: 4, 13, 9 and 6

The official site offers four language versions, each with its own news list (/news/article-list.php).

VersionURLItemsLatest date in list
Japanesenaruto-cardgame.com/jp/news/42026.07.29
Englishnaruto-cardgame.com/en/news/13Sep. 04, 2026
English(Asia)naruto-cardgame.com/asia-en/news/9Sep. 04, 2026
Traditional Chinesenaruto-cardgame.com/asia-tc/news/62026.09.04

Each list has a “next 10” button at the bottom, but requesting the same page with ?page=2 returns content identical to page 1. The counts above are therefore the complete set of news published so far.

The latest item in the Japanese list is dated July 29, 2026 — meaning the Japanese news list has not grown in the 47 days up to September 14. Over the same period the English version added Orlando, London, Yankee Stadium, NYCC and PAX Aus and the three European events.

2. Of the 20 items, 16 appear in exactly one language version

Matching the four lists against each other leaves 20 distinct items. They break down like this.

Where each of the 20 official news items appears
  • English only 9items(45%)
  • English(Asia) only 5items(25%)
  • All four versions 4items(20%)
  • Traditional Chinese only 2items(10%)

Only these four appear in all four lists:

  • “About NARUTO CARD GAME” published
  • “BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27” announced
  • Gen Con 2026 event information
  • A message from Masashi Kishimoto Sensei

All of them date from June 18 and July 29, 2026 — on or before the information reveal. Every official news item published from August onward appears in exactly one language version.

This is the most practical finding here. Even within the same series of “BCG Fest 26-27 city announcements”, which language version carries them depends on the city.

  • Orlando and London (the West) → English only
  • Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur → English(Asia) only
  • Hong Kong and Taipei → Traditional Chinese only

Read only the English version and you will never see a single one of the seven Asian city announcements. That structure is exactly why, when we follow the Teaching Sessions in seven Asian cities, we cite the Fest site (bandaicardgames-fest.com) instead.

3. Checking page existence, 18 pages × 4 languages

Beyond the list counts, we also checked whether each news detail page exists in each language version. The four lists reference 18 detail pages (.php) in total. We requested all 18 under all four language paths and recorded the HTTP status (72 requests).

○ = HTTP 200 (page exists), — = HTTP 404.

Only “bcgfes26-27” returns a real page in all four versions. The other 17 exist in exactly one language version each (10 English-only, 5 English(Asia)-only, 2 Traditional Chinese-only).

That is one off from the list counts in the previous section, for a reason worth stating: “Gen Con 2026” is listed as an item in all four lists, but the page itself exists only in English. It therefore counts as “all four versions” for list items and as “English-only” for pages.

4. What the Japanese version actually has: one page, and Gen Con points to English

Reading the table down the Japanese column, the only news detail page the Japanese version has of its own is “bcgfes26-27”.

So where do the other three items in the Japanese list go? Checking their link targets:

Item in the Japanese listLinks to
“About NARUTO CARD GAME” published/jp/welcome/ (Japanese page)
“BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27” event information/jp/news/bcgfes26-27.php (Japanese page)
“Gen Con 2026” event information/en/news/gencon-2026.php (English page)
A message from Masashi Kishimoto Sensei/jp/#comment (anchor on the Japanese top page)

The Gen Con entry, headlined in Japanese, takes you to an English page when clicked. There is no Japanese Gen Con page: /jp/news/gencon-2026.php returns 404.

The same happens in the schedule block on the Japanese top page. The labels and dates are written in Japanese, but every event links to an English page (Gen Con, NYCC, PAX Aus, SPIEL Essen, Paris Games Week, Lucca).

On top of that, /en/retailers/ exists but /jp/retailers/ returns 404. That page lists authorized distributors by region for North America, Europe, Oceania, Latin America and the Middle East — with no entries for Japan or Asia.

Note that the language switcher itself reaches all four versions from any of them. The situation is not “you cannot get to the other versions from Japanese” but “there is less on the Japanese version.”

5. So where should you actually look?

Turning all of the above into a way to follow the game:

Reading order that misses nothing official
  1. English news listLargest. Western events, the Yankees, BANDAI TCG+
  2. English(Asia) news listThe five BCG Fest cities in Asia are here only
  3. Traditional Chinese news listHong Kong and Taipei are here only
  4. BCG Fest site, per-city pagesMore detail on entry rules and status than the official site
  5. Japanese versionCheck when something is announced for Japan
  • Read only the Japanese version and you will see none of the official news published since August 2026. That list stopped on July 29
  • English (/en/) is the largest, and even it has 13 of 20. Since the Asian BCG Fest city announcements are not there, following demo events in Asia means reading both English(Asia) and Traditional Chinese
  • For the entry requirements and registration status themselves, the per-city pages on the BCG Fest site are more detailed and update faster than the official site’s news
  • We check all four versions plus the Fest site and publish in Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese. Our event calendar and timeline collect announcements in date order regardless of which language version they appeared in

6. What this article does not claim

  • Why the news differs by language version. Whether separate regional teams handle them or translation is simply behind, there is no official explanation
  • Whether Asian and Western news will be added to the Japanese version later. Whether stopping at July 29 is deliberate is also unknown
  • Whether the thin Japanese news is connected to the fact that no demo event in Japan has been announced. Both are true at the same time, but we cannot confirm a causal link
  • Whether the absence of /jp/retailers/ says anything about distribution in Japan. It is a fact that Japan and Asia are not among the listed regions on the English page, but no reason is given

Summary (as of September 14, 2026)

  • The four official language versions list 4 (Japanese), 13 (English), 9 (English(Asia)) and 6 (Traditional Chinese) news items. Removing duplicates gives 20, and no version carries all 20
  • The only items in all four lists are the four published on June 18 and July 29. Every official news item from August onward appears in exactly one language version
  • Which version carries a BCG Fest city announcement depends on the city. The two Western cities are on English, five Asian cities on English(Asia), and Hong Kong and Taipei on Traditional Chinese
  • Of the 18 news detail pages, only one returns a real page in all four versions (10 English-only, 5 English(Asia)-only, 2 Traditional Chinese-only)
  • The Japanese version has one news detail page of its own, its Gen Con entry links to the English page, the top-page schedule block links to English pages under Japanese labels, and /jp/retailers/ returns 404
