This article is commentary and analysis by this site. To keep it distinct from official facts, reasoning and speculation are clearly labeled.

We have written a lot of articles that read the cards themselves — stats, costs, effect text, traits, card numbers. What is known can now be counted with real precision.

This article does the opposite. It recounts the confirmed cards by nothing but the date they were revealed.

The shape that comes out is more extreme than we expected.

About this article: the denominator is the 38 entries we have confirmed in official primary sources and registered in our card database. No official source publishes a total count of revealed cards. A “reveal date” is the day we could first confirm that card in an official primary source (the official site, the official X accounts, or official material handed out at Gen Con). The roadmap wording was checked directly on the English official site on September 10, 2026 and re-checked on October 2, 2026 (no changes). No speculation, leaks or secondhand reports are included.

[Updated October 2, 2026] This was published as a stock article to be updated as cards are added. As of October 2 the count is still 38. What changed is the elapsed time (41 days → 63 days) and the fact that the next information slot now has a date, a time and a way to watch it. Updates are flagged in each section.

1. There are only four reveal dates

Count the reveal dates of all 38 entries and they collapse into four days.

2. Two days produced 36 entries — 94.7% of everything known

Look at those four days by volume and two of them dwarf the rest.

36 entries — 94.7% of the total — came out on just two days, and those two days are not even consecutive (July 29 and July 31, with a day in between).

The remaining two are both CP-001, the venue-specific promo slot. Which means every card that will make up the actual card pool arrived on those two days.

Put another way, everything now sitting in our card database is the result of spending more than two months reading two days’ worth of announcements (at publication this read “more than forty days”).

3. The last new card face was July 31

This is the heart of it. The last day a new card face — artwork, stats, effect text — was published was July 31, the opening day of Gen Con.

An entry was added on August 7, but that was not a card face. It was the Yankee Stadium variant of CP-001 being announced by name (Chakra Card -New York Yankees™ Ver.-) and number (CP-001) alone. Its card image has never been published, and that did not change when the giveaway terms appeared on September 6.

4. What has happened since August is re-presentation of known cards

It is not that nothing moved in those 63 days. What moved was how already-known cards were shown.

The official English X account has posted short videos of ARTWORK gallery illustration cards filmed as printed physical samples.

Both cards had already been confirmed as images on July 29. Something that could only be seen as an image can now be seen as a physical object — but no new card was added.

Everything the official site published in the same window — BCG Fest Orlando, London, and the three European events — is event information. The Japanese official site’s news feed has not been updated since July 29 (re-checked October 2).

[Added October 2, 2026] 22 analysis articles later, the denominator has not moved

Since this article was published, we ran 22 “single-card analysis” articles between September 15 and September 27 — a format that digs into one card’s effect text, stats and use. By volume it is the most concentrated stretch in this site’s history.

And yet not one new card entered the pool. All 22 cover card faces published on July 29 and July 31. What grew in that period was the depth of the reading, not the material: the denominator of 38 has not moved since July 31, which makes this article’s point stronger rather than weaker.

Everything the official side produced in the same window — the lottery openings in Taipei and Kuala Lumpur, the Tokyo stop announcement, the PAX Aus and NYCC registration changes, TCGplayer opening its catalogue and the confirmation that Next Play developed the rules — is event, distribution or production information. Not one card face.

5. Only two slots in the entire roadmap say “New info reveals”

So when do cards next increase? Here is only what the official site states.

There is also an “Oct. 2026 – Early 2027” slot reading “Tutorial Sessions planned” (BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27).

The thing worth noticing: only two slots in the entire timeline are labelled “New info reveals.”

The first is Gen Con (July 30 – August 2), already done — and as counted above, 94.7% of everything known came out by then.

The second is New York Comic Con 2026 (October 8–11). All four other October and November slots read “Tutorial Sessions planned”; none of them is described as a new-information reveal.

July 31 to October 8 is 69 days. No official source says “the next cards arrive at NYCC” — but the only date the publisher has positioned as a new-information reveal is October 8–11. That is the limit of what can be stated as fact on September 10, 2026.

[Added October 2, 2026] That one slot now has a date, a time and a stream

At publication we could only write “the remaining one is the NYCC window (October 8–11).” Since then, which slot inside that window, and what is planned for it, has become concrete.

On September 29, 2026, a Panels section was added to the end of the card game official site’s NYCC 2026 page, listing the panel “NARUTO: What’s Next?” (October 10 local time, North-Level 5: Empire Stage) — details
Dated the same September 29, the official NARUTO site (naruto-official.com) announced that the stage will be livestreamed worldwide on the NARUTO / BORUTO official YouTube channel, at 6:00–7:00 AM JST on Sunday, October 11
That announcement stated, for the first time in an official Japanese-language source, that two things are planned: a “world-first reveal” about a brand-new NARUTO anime, and the latest information on the NARUTO Card Game releasing in 2027 (details)

In the context of this article, what matters is that a “new information reveal” slot has, for the first time, a date and a clock time. Gen Con — which produced the 94.7% — was a four-day window; this one is narrowed to a single hour, and can be watched live without being there.

One caveat: the official wording stops at “latest information” and does not say card faces will be shown. Nothing in the official record guarantees that the 63-day zero ends on October 11. Whether an archive (replay) will exist is also unannounced.

6. How much has been filled in from two days of material

With that in mind, here is where the card database stands.

In other words, the present state of play is “36 cards from two days, counted from every possible angle.” Which also means findings like only one card says “draw” and no card nets you extra cards in hand are all counts over a two-day sample. It is far too early to call anything drawn from a sample that concentrated a tendency of the game.

7. What there is to read while waiting

The useful thing to do during a wait is to finish reading the two days of material already public. Here is what we have organised.
